Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective date: 17 August 2026
This policy explains how billing, cancellation and refunds work on Celebrium. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Who you are buying from
Subscriptions and credits are sold by Paddle, acting as our Merchant of Record. Paddle takes the payment, issues your invoice, and is responsible for any sales tax or VAT due in your country. Your card or bank statement will show Paddle, not Celebrium.
This matters for refunds: Paddle processes them on our instruction, and can also act on a request you make to them directly.
2. Subscriptions
2.1 How billing works
- Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or annually, on the date you first subscribed.
- We charge the payment method you gave at checkout.
- Prices are shown in US dollars. Your bank may apply its own conversion.
- We will tell you by email before any price change takes effect, and you may cancel before it does.
2.2 Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Plan & Wallet in the app, or by emailing contact@celebrium.ai.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It is not a refund of the period you are already in.
- You keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- You will not be charged again once you have cancelled.
2.3 Refunds on subscriptions
- 14-day cooling-off. If you subscribe for the first time and are not satisfied, tell us within 14 days of that first payment and we will refund it in full, whether or not you have used the Service.
- Renewals. If a renewal charges you unexpectedly, contact us within 14 days of that charge and we will refund it, provided you have not made substantial use of the Service in the new period.
- Beyond that, refunds are at our discretion. We would rather resolve the underlying problem, so please tell us what went wrong.
- If the Service does not work as described, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of the time limits above, and nothing in this policy limits your rights under the consumer-protection law of your own country, including the South African Consumer Protection Act, UK consumer law and EU consumer law.
3. Course generation credits
Generation credits pay for the artificial-intelligence processing that writes a course. That processing costs real money the moment it runs, so credits work differently from a subscription.
- Unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase.
- Credits already spent on a generated course are not refundable, because the work has been done and delivered to you.
- If a generation fails — the course does not complete, or comes back materially broken — we will restore the credits or refund them. You should not pay for something that did not work. Contact us and we will check the logs.
- Credits included with a subscription have no cash value and expire at the end of each billing period unless we say otherwise.
4. Founder membership
Founder membership is a one-off payment for lifetime access to public courses.
- It is refundable within 14 days of purchase.
- After 14 days it is non-refundable, because it is priced as a one-off commitment rather than a subscription.
- It does not include course generation, which is charged separately.
5. When we may refuse a refund
We may decline a refund where we reasonably believe the request is fraudulent, where an account has been used in breach of our Terms, or where refunds are being used repeatedly to obtain free access.
6. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first. We can almost always resolve it faster than your bank can, and a chargeback costs us a fee on top of the disputed amount.
Where a chargeback reverses a payment, any referral commission earned from that payment is reversed at the same time.
7. How to ask for a refund
Email contact@celebrium.ai from the address on your account, and tell us:
- what you bought and roughly when,
- the email address you used at checkout,
- and what went wrong.
We aim to respond within 3 working days, and to process an approved refund within 10 working days. Refunds go back to the original payment method. Your bank may take a few days more to show it.
